Golf 

The Fredericksburg Country Club, initially established as a 9-hole course designed by James Gilmore Harrison in 1927, evolved into an 18-hole golf course with the addition of the back nine in 1962. This expansion was undertaken with the expertise of Carl Rasnic, PGA, culminating in a distinguished 18-hole golf experience. In 2002, the course underwent a strategic redesign of its greens, further enhancing its appeal. Renowned for its consistently exceptional condition, the course boasts a design that promotes an engaging and seamless progression from one hole to the next, facilitating an enjoyable walking experience. Strategically situated between Richmond and Washington, D.C., the club offers convenient access, being merely a 10-minute drive east of Interstate 95.

Meet our
Head Golf Professional

Brian Walker, PGA 

Brian Walker was born and raised in Burlington, North Carolina, just 30 minutes east of Greensboro. He began his career in the golf business at the age of 18 at Alamance Country Club in his hometown.

​

In 2006, he moved to Southport, North Carolina, where he became Lead Assistant Professional at The Clubs at St. James Plantation. After completing the PGA Apprentice Program and being elected to Class A Membership, he was promoted to Head Golf Professional.

​

Brian enjoyed six years of great success and developing professional relationships in his role of Head Golf Professional at St. James Plantation. In 2014, he became Head Golf Professional at Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina. After two highly successful years at Country Club of Landfall, Brian decided to make the move back to central North Carolina to be closer to his wife, Carley, and begin a new chapter in his career as Tournament Director at Greensboro Country Club.

Brian, his wife, Carley, and their daughter, Breezy, have enjoyed becoming a part of the Fredericksburg community. In their spare time, they enjoy meeting new people, exploring new places, trying new restaurants, going to the beach, following their favorite sports teams, and spending time with family and friends.

Golf Programs & Events

The Fredericksburg Country Club provides a wide range of events and activities for golfers of all ages and skill levels. The golf calendar features many different types of golf events for our members. They consist of Club Championships, Member-Guest, Member-Member, President's Cup, Couples' Championship, Nine & Dine, and many other enjoyable types of events. The club is also actively involved in PGA Junior League with over 30 juniors on our team.

The Fredericksburg Country Club proudly offers top quality golf instruction led by our PGA Head Golf Professional, Brian Walker. The professionals utilize FlightScope launch monitor technology to assist in achieving the best results to help lower your scores.

Practice Facilities

  • Full length, targeted driving range

  • Short game area with the facility to practice 50-yard shots to a regulation-size green with multiple lies

  • Two bunkers bedded with “Kinloch” grade sand

  • Contoured putting green which is maintained exactly like the greens on course

  • Every 4 months, new range balls arrive to ensure our members are practicing with top quality balls year round

Golf Outings & Corporate Events

Fredericksburg Country Club hosts a number of outings and corporate events each year. We truly appreciate hosting these events and treat each group outing with the utmost care.

Our professional staff is able to create any event you would like with the desired price point, offering:
